Initial Analysis -- Summary: The following graph
visually summarizes what we know so far. Of the 21 profiles in the project
as of Novemer 2007, 6 tested at the 12 marker level which is only used for
high-level migration analysis. They are included here in their
own "12s" group. The other 15 profiles tested at 25, 37 or 64 marker
levels. The 25 marker level is good for initial pattern analysis, as
demonstrated below, although the 37 marker level is what we should encourage
all participants to submit. The 37 marker level is just better for
genealogical analysis. The 25 marker pattern analysis shows 6 to 8 Clan
Branch patterns. 6 are shown here. The other 2 are noted in-line to the
images below.
The closer the profile Id's are to each other the more likely there is a "genealogically" significant relationship. That term means that two individuals may have a comon ancestor within the last 1,200 years. Within several of the Clan Branches we have examples of those potential common recent ancestors. However most of our Clan Branches are at the far end of that scale from the Clan Modal profile. We are an historically ancient and varied Clan with many facets. |

The spreadsheet summary below groups each profile with its tentatively
assigned Branch-Modal value. The leftmost column is the branch group
indicator. The rightmost two columns show the distance when compared to the
Clan_modal profile and that branch group's modal profile.
Mind you there are still too few participants for this to be anything but tentative. Also listed is each branch group's modal profile and shown, to the right of each, how distant that group's modal profile is from the clan modal profile. |
